Washington’s Michael Harris pinpoints perfect flip throwins

You might think that doing flip throwins in NCAA Division One soccer matches would be more for show than effectiveness. Not for the Washington Huskies’ Michael Harris, who can launch them directly into the penalty area from almost midfield. See Harris in action in photos and videos.

Shoreline sophomore Michael Harris uses his experience in gymnastics to launch eye-catching and effective flip throwins. In the videos below you’ll see Harris talk about the skill, and use it to help his summer PDL club, Washington Crossfire, score two goals in 2011 against the Portland Timbers U23’s.

Stephanie Brownfield recently captured Harris in flip mode, as did Wilson Tsoi. Click on Tsoi’s collage sequence to see it full size.
