Cashmere Youth Soccer to Join Wenatchee Fire FC

fire_logoCASHMERE, WA— (Press Release) Cashmere Youth Soccer and the Wenatchee Fire FC are pleased to announce the merger of both clubs, effective immediately. Recreational soccer will still be offered on a local level and everything you have grown to love and respect about the Cashmere program. We will work to maintain it as we bring the many enhancements that the Fire offers. “This merger validates our commitment to advance the game by partnering with recreational clubs to develop players and coaches alike. Our day to day involvement will allow us to implement age appropriate training curriculum with credentialed and experienced staff, enhancing both the player and coaches’ ability to thoroughly enjoy the game while increasing opportunities for competitive advancement. Everyone wins; our players, our coaches, our club and our schools” said Mike Osborn, Director of Coaching for the Wenatchee Fire FC.

uppervalleyCashmere Youth Soccer has done an outstanding job building and maturing a youth soccer program not only focusing on playing the game of soccer but using it to develop life skills and fitness habits for our players, preparing them for a successful, happy and healthy life. Wenatchee Fire FC operates with the primary mission of “Developing today’s player into tomorrow’s game changer”. By merging CYSA and the Wenatchee Fire FC, this will allow your child, if they choose, to play at a higher level of competitive soccer and have additional opportunities to train and develop their skills. “We are very excited to be able to bring two clubs whose missions and values are so fundamentally the same together to align time, talents and services” said Janine Bakken, President of the Board for the Wenatchee Fire FC. “This merger will provide additional playing opportunities while also providing additional resources to promote continued individual and team success” Trish Schmitten, President of the Board for Cashmere Youth Soccer.

The Wenatchee Fire FC is committed to using soccer as a platform for promoting the pursuit of excellence in the educational, character, and physical development of our players. By creating a healthy competitive environment for children 5-19 years of age we will teach players how to set and work toward goals individually and collectively, modeling and instilling the qualities of leadership, teamwork, commitment, perseverance, loyalty and sportsmanship. Players will learn how to overcome adversity, exercise self-discipline, practice humility, gratitude, and service to others. The end result being that every player is equipped to make significant contributions as a part of a team, both on the field and where they happen to live their life.
For those players that desire to play competitive soccer in North Central Washington we offer the opportunity to train and develop to their full potential with quality, experienced and licensed staff, first-rate facilities, in the most competitively appropriate programs, leagues, and tournaments accessible to the Club.
