Emerald City FC players arrive to prepare for WPSL kickoff

ecfclogoSHORELINE, WA— Emerald City FC of the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) are back at training ahead of their second season.

In recent days the club has posted names of signed players on its Facebook page.

Internationals Indira Ilic (Serbia) and Marina Martinez Galaz (Spain) arrived first, along with Sam Johnson from St. Louis (SIU-Edwardsville.)

Then the team revealed that UNC Tarheel and Serbian National Team player Marina Nesic was on her way to Seattle today to join ECFC WPSL, along with Idahoan Ali Skogrand and Swede Caroline Karlsson, both from Southwest Baptist University in Missouri.

The latest news is the return of last year’s goalkeeper, Liz Ruiz.

Emerald City will open their 2013 home slate with a special 3:00 PM June 2 match at Rainier Beach High School against the Westside Timbers.
